What shopper does not love buying a unique product online, receiving the parcel in the post, then unwrapping the package with a sense of anticipation!? A gift to oneself that we all deserve from time to time. A reward for working hard and saving up our had earned cash. For me a realisation occurred a few years ago during the pandemic, whilst doing this very action. I purchased some garments online from a well known Chinese fast fashion brand only to read an article the very next day about rumored human rights violations connected with the company. Not to mention the colossal environmental impact. All so I could wear a nice new top out for brunch with the girls. The excitement and satisfaction that should be associated with a purchase like this was shattered. The guilt and worry set in.
